Busy Living Before School Offer

Busy Living is delighted to confirm that with the support of Chestnut Lane School and Governors it will be starting a new Breakfast Club based in the Dining Hall at Chestnut Lane School. The first session for the Breakfast Club will be on Thursday 5^th September 2024, the start of the new autumn term, and will operate every day during term time. The Breakfast Club will be open from 07:30 and staff will accompany the Little Chestnuts Pre-school children and Chestnut Lane children to their classrooms in time for morning registration. The Elangeni children will be accompanied to the school site in readiness for going in to their classrooms from 08:35. 

The club will be open to all children attending Chestnut Lane School, Little Chestnuts Preschool and Elangeni.  Parents who are not already registered with Busy Living can register online now at www.busyliving.co.uk – go to the Out of School Clubs page. Bookings for  the September term for both the Breakfast Club at Chestnut Lane and the After School Club at Elangeni School can be made once the current term ends.

A copy of the new Parent Handbook can be found below.  This gives details of the new Breakfast Club as well as the existing After School Club, including details of charges and how the Breakfast Club will operate.  The cost of the session is £10.00, to include breakfast, with a £1.00 session discount for siblings. Parents can use either or both clubs and bookings for either of the clubs can be made as frequently or infrequently as you wish!  Please note, there is a £20.00 annual family registration fee due on first registration which is applied to the first booking.     

The Breakfast Club will start at 7:30am and parents can drop off at any time from then. Access for all children attending the Breakfast Club will be down the Chestnut Lane driveway and drop off at the Fire Exit door at the rear of the Dining Hall. Please note that access is pedestrian only, you cannot drive down the school driveway. We are afraid there will be no access from the Elangeni/Woodside Avenue side as the link gate does not open until 08:00.

Children will be offered a healthy breakfast and they can choose from a variety of different foods, for instance: cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, pancakes, cheese, fruit in season, fruit juice, milk and water. Children will then have the opportunity to do arts and crafts, colouring and playing with toys and board games until it is time for school. The Chestnut Lane and Preschool children will be escorted to their classrooms by Busy Living staff and handed over to their teacher in time for registration. The Elangeni children will be accompanied to Elangeni. We very much look forward to the start of this new club and spending time with your children! Busy Living also operates the After School Club based at Elangeni School which is next to Chestnut Lane School; children from Chestnut Lane School, although unfortunately not from Little Chestnuts Preschool, can attend. They are collected by staff at 3:05pm each day and the club runs until 6:00pm.

You can pay by credit/debit card, Tax Free Childcare or childcare vouchers received through your employer. If you are using Edenred then the reference number you need to find Busy Living is P20349540 with the postcode HP6 6AN.   If using Tax Free Childcare please select the ‘childcare vouchers’ option and put your child’s unique TFC reference where it asks for the provider name/reference so your payment can be reconciled with your bookings – remember to click on the Confirm button so you bookings are saved.  You can find Busy Living @ Green Ridge on the Tax Free Childcare portal under URN EY374382. 

We take an optimistic view that payments paid by Tax Free Childcare or childcare vouchers will be paid within 5 days so your bookings are confirmed at the point of booking.

BLAST! Busy Living After School Team

 BUSY LIVING AFTER SCHOOL TEAM (BLAST)

Busy Living Ltd has been running an Ofsted registered After School at Elangeni School since July 2008 for all children aged 4-11 years and has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. We have the use of the Main Hall, Dining Hall and the Multi Function room for reading/homework, plus of course the various inspiring outside areas. We offer a planned, varied daily programme of craft, indoor activities and outdoor supervised sports and games which we encourage children to participate in for their health and fitness. We provide age-related activities for all children and operate an inclusive practice for children of all abilities. We collect children from the feeder school Chestnut Lane, directly from their classrooms by known, uniformed staff.

After School Club Costs & Times

We are open from 3.15pm to 6pm Monday to Friday. Bookings should be made in advance where possible to ensure availability although we are flexible and happy to take ad hoc bookings.

£17.90 for 2½ hrs

Late Booking Fee £5 per booking per club
Late Collection Charge £8 per 15 minutes per child after 6pm.

We have qualified, experienced staff who work regularly at the club, so quickly become familiar with the children and their needs. We ensure new children settle in, make friends and provide an environment where they learn through play. We offer a range of activities so the children can decide what they want to do.  A light bite (eg beans on toast, wraps etc) is provided at 4.30pm to keep them going until home time and water is always available. 

Flexible bookings and sibling discounts are offered and make the clubs accessible for all parents, so do please ask if you require any help other than stated. We are a professional, fully insured childcare company who are Ofsted registered No EY374382 so can accept childcare vouchers or tax credits.
