Leave of Absence

A Request for Absence form must be submitted to Miss Burns, the Head Teacher, at least one month before the intended period of absence. Parents are strongly encouraged to speak the school before submitting the application.

Miss Burns will review each request carefully and may consider your child’s attendance record when making a decision. If permission is not granted, any absence during the requested dates will be recorded as unauthorised.

Leave of absence will not be approved immediately before or during assessment or examination periods. The school can only authorise term‑time holidays or absences in very exceptional circumstances.

Regular attendance is essential to ensure your child receives the best possible education. Any period of absence may result in your child missing important parts of their learning programme.
