Supporting Children and Young People’s Wellbeing: Courses Available Through the Family Hub Service
Buckinghamshire’s Family Hub Service offers a programme of wellbeing courses for children and young people aged 7 to 19 (and up to 25 for those with SEND). These courses and workshops are designed to help children and young people build confidence, develop coping strategies, and feel supported through key transitions.
What’s on offer
Young people can access a range of courses tailored to their needs, including:
- How to deal with stress, anxiety and low mood – an online course that runs for five weeks, one hour each week in the evening.
- How to build confidence and self‑esteem – an online course that runs for five weeks, one hour each week in the evening.
- How to move up to secondary school for year 6s – a two‑hour online session held during the school holidays.
- Wellbeing Matters for 7–11 year olds – a one‑day, in‑person workshop held during the school holidays.

Each course page provides an overview of what’s covered and details of the next available course or workshop. Facilitators also speak with families ahead of the course to understand any individual needs or support requirements.

The Storyteller Roadshow comes to Buckinghamshire libraries
As part of the roadshow, you'll get to see a 'The Blank Book', a special interactive story in which a mysterious new tome appears in the library and begins feeding on people's stories. Best of all, you get the shape how the tale ends, as our intrepid fablesmiths will be weaving your plot twists into the story...
As well as a live performance, there will also be a special creative writing activity to encourage the superstar bestselling authors of the future! Come and share your ideas and learn how to turn them into a tale of your very own!
This special event is presented by Unbound, the award-winning in-house storytelling company at Queens Park Arts Centre, Aylesbury. The event is presented in partnership with the Buckinghamshire Library Service, and is generously funded by the Rothschild Foundation.
